i cleaned out my closet today and made the tough decision to let go of some sentimental t-shirts that have made the cut through a great number of previous purges. among them was a weezer shirt purchased at a show in nashville, tennessee on their hyper-extended midget tour in 2002. the shirt itself fit well, looked good, and was loved to the point of being a present-day holey mess. the show i remember well. well, "well" is a relative term. i only remember some of the people that were there with me, and until i looked it up just now i didn't remember the name of the venue. but i do remember this song, which was the final song played before the encore, and a very important song to my seventeen year-old self. i was sitting on my friend ryan's shoulders, and during the guitar solo, confetti rained down on us from the ceiling and i felt very alive and teenage-y. here's hoping you can capture a little bit of that feeling today, too.
